Rooted in Latin culture -a very loving culture- in Mexico, love is everywhere. In the past, like around the world Mexicans celebrated Valentine’s day on February the 14th. However, modern Mexico has taken a twist and now celebrates not only Love but also Friendship! Dia de Amor y La Amistad was born! Here in our beloved Puerto Vallarta, I want to share with you some good activities to consider for a day with a special someone, while in Puerto Vallarta!
Special dinner with a loved one- such a romantic tradition!
First of all, I would like to share with you one of the origins of the beautiful tradition of celebration for Valentine’s day. I found some very interesting legends about the celebration. I particulary liked one saying that in the third century in Rome, when Catholics were persecuted, soldiers were forbidden to marry. The belief at this time was that single men performed better in battle. Thus, a priest named Valentine started to marry couples in secret.
