You literally cannot walk more than a block in downtown without stumbling upon an art gallery, urban mural, or statue of some sort. It’s no wonder that it doesn’t take many residents long to start looking for Art supply stores to start creating their own masterpieces. Here a few resources to help you get started on your artistic journey in Puerto Vallarta.
Mexico Magico
This is a fantastic art supply shop with two convenient locations. The more popular location is the downtown Puerto Vallarta locale found at Juárez 534 in El Centro. This is the street that leads out of downtown towards the airport, the shop is just a few blocks north of the Guadalupe Cathedral. At México Mágico, artists and crafters can find all the basic supplies required, from easels and blank canvases to acrylic paints and assorted mediums.

There is also a second location in the Los Sauces neighborhood that can be found at Av. Las Torres 131-A . Mexico Magico has a wide variety of high quality supplies that will please beginner to advanced artists. I highly recommend a visit!
La Perlita
La Perlita is one of the original crafting shops in downtown PV, with an additional location in El Pitillal. This store is packed to the gills with wonders! From paint, to artificial flowers, ribbon, yarn, safety pins, glass vases for centerpieces, foamy paper, and so much more, La Perlita is definitely worth a look around to see what will inspire you to get started on your next project.
Parisina
Parisina is primarily a fabric store, but also has a wide array of crafting supplies and seasonal holiday decorations. For those who know how to work a sewing machine, this large corporate chain store is air-conditioned heaven on earth! The three main locations in Puerto Vallarta are in downtown on Juarez (not far from La Perlita and Mexico Magico), next to Soriana across from the San Javier Hospital, and the third is in the MacroPlaza shopping center near Pitillal where “the other” Wal Mart is. Beautiful store with lots of treasures!

I really like the canvasses in the store over in Plaza Caracol. Parisina is perfect for basic craft supplies. Homebound has certainly brought more activities. Especially with the kiddos!
